  • 6th Grade Team Building (Athletic Focus)

    Creating a unified team requires more than just practice, skill drills, endurance training and in-game experience. Team building activities that extend beyond the playing field are just as important. This course will provide students with a mixture of these skills and activities. We will focus on how these activities and skills play an essential role in helping young athletes understand the value of collaboration, effective communication, mutual respect, and trust; all of which are integral to successful team dynamics. Students should wear comfortable clothing that will allow for physical activity. Tennis shoes required. No open toe or slip on sandals (Crocs). Students will have time to change after school if they desire.
  • AARP Smart Driver

    This is an innovative classroom driver program for persons age 55 and over that is designed to help improve driving skills. Minnesota state law requires all insurance companies to give a premium reduction to persons age 55 and over who have completed this eight-hour accident prevention course. Participants must attend both sessions to qualify for insurance discounts. All participants must bring their driver’s license and AARP card (if member) to class. No registrations accepted at class. AARP members must supply member number at time of registration.
  • AARP Smart Driver Refresher

    Minnesota legislation permits senior drivers to renew their qualifications for automobile insurance discounts by attending a four-hour refresher course, if the driver has previously attended and completed an eight-hour course. Participants must bring drivers license and AARP card (if member) to class. No registrations accepted in class. AARP members must supply member number at time of registration.

His performances are always colorful, but never off-color as he presents historical and interesting facts about the “King of Rock and Roll,” and connects to his audience with humorous stage bits.

  • B.L.A.S.T. - Babysitting 101: Emergency Outfitters

    This course follows the American Academy of Pediatrics – Babysitter Lessons And Safety Training (BLAST). Students learn current practices for safety and injury prevention, first aid basics, feeding and caring for infants, how to handle behavior problems, and how to manage their babysitting business. Students receive a reference book, recipe and game handouts, babysitting bag and first aid kit. Bring a bag lunch, beverage and a snack.
  • BMX Community Ed Night

    Rum River BMX is the #1 indoor facility in the country for BMX bike racing. Unlike traditional sports, in BMX, no one sits on the bench! BMX riding is a great way for kids and adults to stay active, build confidence, develop important life skills, connect with others, and have fun. This session will cover BMX fundamentals including "What is BMX racing?" racing bike types, BMX terminology, and BMX safety. Also, the most important lesson, how to RIDE LIKE THE WIND! Students will receive hands-on riding instructions and will practice their new skills on the BMX track. This course is designed for new riders (novice) who are interested in the sport. If you can pedal your bike without training wheels, you can take part in this class. No special bikes are required, if it has wheels, a few adjustments and we will make it work for this class (your bike will need to have the reflectors, kickstand, chain guard and pegs removed). If you do not have a bike, we have a fleet of HARO race bikes available at the track for use on a first come first serve basis. A full-face helmet is recommended, as helmets are required.You must wear long pants, a long-sleeved shirt and close-toed shoes.

    ECFE is a place where parent or grandparents and young children learn and play together and can meet other families with young children. We are one of nearly 350 in the state of Minnesota offered through school districts. We believe all families deserve support, information, and opportunities to be involved in their children's learning. We recognize that parents are the first and most important teachers of their children. ECFE provides information on getting ready for school, discipline, child development, communication and growing together as a family. Please call for openings after class start date.
  • Babies and Parents

    Enjoy songs and games together and meet others who are experiencing the joys and challenges of raising a baby. You will also receive a special gift delivery after the completion of the class. This group is non-separating for parent discussion time. Sibling care is offered for a fee of $11.00 or $23.00 depending on your household income. If a class has started please call for possible openings.
